We don't profess to be wine connoisseurs, but there is such an enormous
selection of Spanish wines available where do you start?
If we find a good wine we will let you know with a short review and a
photograph so you can try and find it.
Generally wine bottles should be stored on their sides to stop the cork drying
out, but some stores that stock bottles standing up are still worth buying from,
because of the fast turn around of stock they handle.
Having said that I personally would only buy that very expensive wine from a
specialist wine store unless the bottle is on it's side.
Iranzo's in Nerja have a big selection of wines and sometimes good Port too as
do Eroski at Velez Malaga.

Rioja Vista Alegre
Light and fruity even at 12% and far too easy to drink! the restaurant
price was 4.80€ but I haven't seen it in the shops |

Albali: Tinto Reserva 1995, fruity and easy to drink at around 2.5E in the shops. |

Gomez Aguirre: Montecid, a great non Denominacion Rioja that is
incredible value at around 2.4E in the shops, loads of fruit with a hint
of chocolate and hardly woody at all. |

We found this Cava in Supersol at 12E, and it is a
hand numbered Reserva 1997
It certainly gives the French stuff a run for it's money, very crisp and
fruity and very dry, forget the Moet and it's a third of the price!

| Señorio de Senar: Here is another one for around
2E, a Rioja with a Denominación and lovely, full of fruit and again not
very woody at all, give it a go! |

| Castillo Sajazarro 1994 One for that special occasion: A
stunning Rioja it cost us 25E (restaurant price) but was worth every penny! |

15E but gorgeous, smooth and fruity, absolutely excellent. |
