Parking just gets worse
What is going on?
Three plots of land between Avda Mediaterraneo and Antonio Millon prol. that have stood empty forever are having a 2 meter wall built on their perimiters.
Why.
Are these plots all going to be built on very soon?
I doubt it. In a recession?
Normally a huge excavation takes place for the underground parking that is a legal requirement now.
So why are these plots being walled off and who is doing it?
The result of blocking these plots off means that close to 200 car parking spaces will be lost.
There are many many hundreds of houses and apartments in Nerja that were built without underground parking. Where do residents without private parking park their cars now?
In the last year Nerja has lost parking spaces in Antonio Millon (to make a nice pedestrian area for the 3 cafes that have terraces all year round!). Avda Mediteranneo was remarked (bays that held 4 now cars are now marked for just three)
The revamping of (still not open) C/Jaen has also resulted in a loss of parking.
If residents are forced to use the townhall paid parking can you imagine the devastating effect on peoples already tight household budgets?
What is going on?

Reading this post suddenly a tune gets in my head :
“Turn down the wall …” (Pink Floyd – The Wall)
