This would instil a sense of confidence in the local people and holiday makers, that the council is working with them, and not against them. Surely this would be beneficial to all, and ensure that the parking issue will not be left until it gets out of hand. If the Town Hall are not worried, and see something has to be done, then they are acting very irresponsibly indeed. Unfortunately, we no longer do this as the cost of parking for up to 6 months has just pushed the costs too high, and parking in the road is often impossible. Pity, as we used to eat in the local restaurants, drink in the local bars, and spend money in the shops. Of course the Town Hall are still being paid their taxes in full so why should they worry? A beautiful town, and if it were not for the council, a town at peace with itself. At least this has always been our impression. Since the changes in car park charges came into being, it has caused a lot of unnecessary trouble for locals and visitors. Where before , parking was totally trouble free................as it still ought to be. We made our concerns known to the council, but they did not appear to be interested. But in Nerja, like all towns throughout the land, is it not time to remind these officials they were voted in by us, the public, to represent us and when we have genuine concerns, to listen and act ! What can these councillors be thinking about ? Certainly not what is best for it's people.
