Nerja Feria

Currently held on the land between C/Carabeo and Los Huertos in the Parador area of Nerja. The Feria in Nerja is the last one of the season and is usually held the second week of October.
Originally the Ferias were Romerias, a sort of horse market that small towns and villages held to attract people from other areas to visit. A good chance for boys to meet girls and vice a versa. (new blood into the community)

The same happens now but with a much more party atmosphere, and dancing and drinking until very late. Live music, bands and entertainment in very large tents (casitas) Lots of bars and take-away places but now more cheap tacky stalls with the reverse auction stalls too.

It pretty much always rains during the Feria in Nerja , usually on the first night!
Always extremely noisy and I always feel sorry for the holiday makers or residents who are staying within a mile of the Feria.
