The cemetery in Nerja

 A very pretty, peaceful place situated at the top of the town on Avenida Pesca (just before the BP petrol station)
We visited on Nov 1st (All Saints day and the Spanish call it the day of the dead) and there were many many people tending to their relatives last resting places. People were up ladders cleaning and polishing and placing new flowers. The smell from all the fresh flowers filled the air. 
All ages were there and people were laughing and smiling. There was even a street trader selling hot chestnuts just outside the entrance as well a  flower seller.

On the evening of all saints day a lot of people will hold an all night vigil at the cemetery beside their departed loved ones. The belief is that on this night the spirits of the dead return to be with the living for just one night.
