Nijar, Almeria provence
A three hour drive (including a stop for coffee) and inland from Almeria with a
friend to buy a load of Andalucian pottery took us to Nijar one Friday
afternoon.
The scenery around Almeria is not exactly picturesque with loads and loads of
green plastic farms, but that is the price of agriculture I guess.
Nijar is quite small with one main street with lots of shops selling the famous
Andalucian pottery and those striped rugs (jarapas).
We headed down to the coast of San Jose, where there is a small marina with bars
and restaurants on the waters edge.
The hotel we stayed in was spotlessly clean and cost 35 euros a night for a
twin room with private bathroom.
