Here are the basics:
Domain name.
This is the name of your website for example www.bigcucumbers.com
You need to check if the name you would like for your website is available and if so you need to purchase it.
The name of your site is important, if you are unsure about which name to use I can help you to choose. You also need to consider which extension to use, the .com extension has the Kudos but your choice of name might not be available. Other choices include .net, .co.uk, and .eu.
Domain names can cost as little as 10 euros.
The domain name needs to be renewed every year, usually at the same cost as the purchase price.
Hosting.
Once you have your domain name you need a hosting account, and this is where you build your website and where it is seen from by the world.
Hosting can cost from as little as 45 euros per year, but you need to make sure you choose the right package for you, things like bandwidth, disk space, email accounts, FTP access, type of control panel all need to be considered
Your Website.
This can be as simple as a one page website, a two or three page layout with contact information, who you are and what you do.
For a one page website I charge 100 euros.
You might need a more complex website.
This can cost from 200 euros.
The two main types of websites are static and dynamic.
A static website is where very little changes but you may need more pages.
A dynamic site is where things can change regularly such as your products or maybe there is an interaction with the public.

Or maybe you don’t want the hassle in which case I can offer a complete package from domain registration, design and hosting through to updating and managing your site for a one off price and then reasonable monthly fee which would include SEO (search engine optimisation) to make sure that people can find your site.
