Nerja Feria
Always includes the 9th October, last year (2011) dates were 8th to 12th.
Held in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Archangel Saint Michael and currently held on the land between C/Carabeo and Los Huertos in the Parador area of Nerja. The Feria in Nerja is the last one of the season in Andalucia and is held the second week of October.
Originally the Ferias were Romerias, a sort of horse market that small towns and villages held to attract people from other areas to visit. A good chance for boys to meet girls and vice a versa. (new blood into the community)
The same happens now but with a much more party atmosphere, and dancing and drinking until very late. Live music, bands and entertainment in very large tents (casetas) Lots of bars and take-away places but now more cheap tacky stalls with the reverse auction stalls too. Now there are also events the “other” side of town in Tutti Frutti Square and Antonio Millon.
It usually rains during the Feria in Nerja , on the first night! but don’t let that put you off, it is a noisy fun and very late party.
As soon as the schedule of events is announced we will post them but to give you an idea here are last years:

I printed off this list for my upcoming visit but then noticed the dates. it is a list of what happened last year, not a helpful guide to this years events. Do the events on any particular day stay the same year after year?
i noted that?
have friends going over & have been told this year its only on fri 7th-mon 10th?
can anyone else confirm dates.
The town hall are always late posting events schedules, sometimes on the day!
As soon as I get the programme I will post it. Last years are there to give you an idea until then.
The dates for this year’s Feria are confirmed as 8th to 12th October
